Kill Doctor Lucky was the very first Cheapass Game, a 'pre-mystery' game in which the goal is explained in the title.
Every player is a murderer visiting Lucky Mansion, and the first player to kill Doctor Lucky wins.
But he's not called 'Doctor Lucky' for nothing: he's notoriously hard to kill.
This is the 19.5th Anniversary Edition of Kill Doctor Lucky, featuring all-new art by Israel Evans (Get Lucky).
This edition contains dramatically updated rules, so it's cleaner, faster, and more tactical than ever before.
Welcome to Lucky Mansion!
A sprawling country estate filled with unusual weapons, good hiding places, and craven killers. Killers like you.
The object? To kill Doctor Lucky.
The obstacles? For one thing, all your friends would rather do it first. For another, Doctor Lucky is aptly named. You would think that after being stabbed, poisoned, and poked in the eye, the old man would be long gone. But it’s been nearly 20 years since folks first started trying to kill him, and he keeps coming back stronger than ever.
Played the original Kill Doctor Lucky? If you’ve played the original, you’ll notice a few changes. Most notably, to draw a card, you must be in a place where no one can see you. This makes sight lines more important, and players can’t draw a handful of cards while riding the Lucky Train. We’ve also upgraded the art, from classic Cheapass clipart to full-color portraits by Israel Evans. For all those changes, we think you’ll find the new edition is the same exact game, only better.
